RESEARCH QUESTION
How can we use UAVs to gather data on embers being emitted from a wildfire, including their size, weight, temperature, and ultimately, their ability to ignite new fires?
PROBLEM OVERVIEW
Here are some of the primary questions we are looking into as we conduct our research:
1. How can we implement a sensor device on a drone to measure ember characteristics during a wildfire event?
2. How can a model be created to detect embers in a video feed and determine qualities they possess?
3. How can information about embers such as ember flux be used to inform wildfire forecasting efforts and wildfire preparations along urban interfaces?
